Over Lake Constance by catamaran
Throughout the year, the Katamaran leaves directly in the city centres of Friedrichshafen and Constance and takes its passengers to the other side of the lake in no time at all - very comfortably and with lots of driving fun.
Fridolin, Constanze and Ferdinand are the names of the fast ships that cross Lake Constance every hour. They depart directly from the harbours in the centre of Friedrichshafen and Constance and bring their passengers directly and comfortably across Lake Constance in just 52 minutes.
Even the trip is an experience in itself: outside there is a lot of wind blowing around your nose and the view of the mountain panorama is unique. Inside, the atmosphere is cosy: here you sit relaxed in the comfortable driving chairs while the landscape passes by outside. The onboard bistro also serves coffee, cold drinks and snacks. Thanks to the spacious tables and a W-Lan hotspot, the crossing is also perfect for working.
Discover the Kat by boat
Once on the other side of the lake, it is only a few minutes from the catamaran jetty to shops, cafés and exciting excursion destinations such as Sea Life, the Zeppelin Museum or the Dornier Museum. With the Katamaran combination tickets, you can also save on entrance fees here.
And those who want to go further are also well served. In Friedrichshafen, for example, there is a direct connection to the Bodensee-Oberschwaben-Bahn to Ravensburg or to Friedrichshafen Airport - the port railway station is just a few steps away from the catamaran jetty. In Constance, the Swiss Intercity trains to Winterthur, Zurich and Biel are already ready when the catamaran arrives - here, too, it is only about 100 metres to the platform. The Katamaran is also the perfect excursion partner for cyclists. Simply take your bike on board and be mobile on the other side of the lake.
The catamarans always depart two minutes after the hour in Constance and Friedrichshafen - all year round and at hourly intervals. In summer even until midnight: from May to the beginning of October the AbendKat is on the move on Fridays and Saturdays.
Constanze, Fridolin and Ferdinand will again be sailing according to the summer timetable from Sunday, 1st of April. In contrast to the winter timetable, the fast ferries will then depart on Sundays and public holidays in the morning from 8.02 am and in the evening until 7.02 pm. The departure times in the ports of Constance and Friedrichshafen are Monday to Friday on weekdays hourly from 6.02 am to 7.02 pm, on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 8.02 am to 7.02 pm. The ships arrive at the minute .54.
A one-way Katamaran trip costs € 10.50 for adults and € 5.30 for children. Group tickets and various tariff offers make the crossing cheaper at any time of year. There are special group offers for travel groups and school classes.
In addition to the numerous international trade fairs such as EUROBIKE or INTERBOOT in Friedrichshafen, there are also special combined tickets which include the catamaran trip, the bus to the trade fair and admission to the trade fair. This saves queuing up at the entrance to the fair, as they already have their admission ticket in their hands with the ticket.
