Illmensee bathing paradise
Numerous holidaymakers, especially families, love the "bathing paradise" at the lake of the same name "Illmensee". The natural seaside resort impresses with its spacious sunbathing lawn with old trees and its great infrastructure, which leaves nothing to be desired: Boat hires, slide, swimming pontoon, diving platform, modern playground, beach volleyball court, kiosk and much more. The lake is also popular with anglers. Already in the Middle Ages, the fishing right was important for the community.
Children will be happy!
During the summer holidays, a colourful holiday programme is offered for younger visitors, so boredom is a thing of the past.
The highlight: Der Höchsten
At over 800 m above sea level, the "Höchsten" is enthroned above the community and, as the highest point between Lake Constance and the Danube, offers a breathtaking panorama of the Alps and Lake Constance. Various activities lure you to the Höchsten: hiking, cycling, visiting the Swabian-Alemannic dialect path with Promipfad, exploring the herb garden of the Bodensee Berghof Höchsten and of course the pure enjoyment of regional specialities. The wonderfully varied landscape around Illmensee offers pure relaxation and plenty of peace.
