Historical buildings and numerous fountains
If you visit Wangen and its magnificent old town, in particular, it means love at first sight: Wangen, a city of historic buildings and numerous fountains, cosy alleys and quiet corners, cultivated gastronomy and friendly people.
Lovable Old Town
Towers, gates, pretty patrician and colourful craftsmen's houses with artistically forged outriggers characterise the listed old town. A visit to the museum landscape in the donkey mill, a cup of coffee in one of the numerous street cafés while strolling through the town, a snack in the legendary Fidelisbäck or a visit to the traditional Wednesday market make Wangen an unforgettable experience.
Concert evenings in a wide variety of styles and a top-class cabaret programme ensure that boredom is a thing of the past. Whether at the fool's jump on Fasnet Monday, at the old town run with the old town hockey stick, at the children's and homeland festival, at the culture night or at the international cycling criterion. There is always something going on in Wangen.
Overnight stay and accommodation
But not only day-trippers are enthusiastic about this beautiful city. Wangen is also recommended as a hospitable holiday domicile. Numerous hotels and inns, holiday flats, holiday flats on the farm, guesthouses and private rooms offer hospitality and comfort for every taste. Well-kept and down-to-earth gastronomy, stylish wine taverns, established pubs and cosy cafés invite you to culinary delights.
Guests with motorhomes feel more than at home on the quietly situated motorhome site close to the city centre and enjoy coming back again. By the way: The parking space was evaluated by the ADAC and awarded with 5 stars! In a reader survey of the largest German motorhome newspaper "Promobil", the motorhome pitch was immediately among the top ten!
Wangen also has a lot to offer for nature and sports enthusiasts. Numerous well-signposted cycle and hiking trails invite you to explore the landscape around Wangen. For example, there are cycle theme trails "Obst", "Wasser", "Wiesen" and GEO-Routen, the "Westallgäuer Käsestraße", the "Oberschwäbische Barockstraße" or the "Donau-Bodensee-Radweg", which can be hiked or experienced.
In April 2007 the first and only "Permanent Half Marathon Route" in Germany was inaugurated in Wangen and is very popular with walkers, runners and cyclists.
Minigolf, inline skating, swimming in the "Stefanshöhe" outdoor pool, climbing and much more. A variety of leisure activities makes your stay in Wangen an unforgettable experience - boredom excluded - repetition desired!
