Where nature shows its most beautiful side
Bodolz was first mentioned in a document in 1341, the oldest and largest part of Enzisweiler was already mentioned in 1134. Bodolz was part of the Fugger dominion Wasserburg until 1763 and then came to Austria. Since 1805 the place belongs to Bavaria. In the course of the administrative reform with the community edict of 1818 the today's community developed.
This year Bodolz celebrates its 200th anniversary as a political community with a festive weekend on 9 and 10 June 2018.
Located at the eastern end of Lake Constance, Bodolz is one of the few towns in Swabian Bavaria and is surrounded by the town of Lindau (Lake Constance) in the east and Wasserburg (Lake Constance) in the west.
Somewhat away from Lake Constance you will find peace and quiet here - not least because nature shows itself here from one of its most beautiful sides. The village invites you to take extensive walks in the woods and meadows past fruit plantations and orchards with a variety of fruit varieties. Enjoy a picnic in the green countryside and leave everyday life behind you.
Nordic walkers and cyclists also have numerous opportunities on very well signposted paths. Somewhat more challenging but especially recommendable is the Panorama Radrunde at the Lindauer Bodensee. This leads to the most beautiful vantage points on the lake and into the Alps of the four-country region, with gigantic panoramic views especially on foehn days. Stay and relax there on special panorama double loungers.
Bodolz is not situated directly, but very close to the lake. From the Ebnet district, you can reach the beautifully situated Strandcafe Lindenhof in just 5 minutes on foot, with bathing facilities in the neighbouring Schachen district of Lindau. The sunbathing lawn surrounded by old trees and the peace museum create a real idyll here.
The village offers you a large selection of holiday apartments, cosy rooms in the Gutsgasthaus Koeberle and upscale accommodation in a hotel at the foot of the Hoyerberg. If we have made you curious about a small, cosy holiday village very close to the lake, then visit us.
