Peninsula with church and castle

The historic peninsula of Wasserburg is one of the most frequently photographed motifs on Lake Constance. The listed peninsula with its church and castle rises romantically into Lake Constance, one of the most popular holiday destinations in Germany.

Nature and active leisure activities

The city of Wasserburg is worth a visit in all seasons. Spring drives away the winter at Lake Constance a little earlier, and so the magnolias have long bloom in Wasserburg when the mountains are still snow-covered only a few kilometres away. The rare, protected iris blossoms shine in the largest nature reserve on Lake Constance in Bavaria.

At the latest when the fruit trees are in full bloom and envelop the surrounding countryside with their fresh scent, the Lake Constance landscape enchants locals and holidaymakers alike. Now it's time to use the extensive network of paths for a bike tour or hike. The Nordic Walking Park Wasserburg, Lindau, Nonnenhorn and Bodolz offers 17 routes of varying degrees of difficulty and stretches over a total distance of 130 km.

Swimming pleasure in the open-air pool and Lake Constance

In the Aquamarin open-air swimming pool directly on the lake, the warm swimmer's pool will be filled with summer feelings from the beginning of May. While Augustin's Kinderland with its play stream, fountains and sluices becomes a paradise for the little ones, the children's and youth pool with its wide slide offers plenty of space for the older ones to romp about. Even on the wide natural beach, swimmers can enjoy the waves and enjoy the view of the nearby Swiss Alps.

Leisure activities

In summer, the lake with its diverse leisure possibilities is at the centre of the holiday planning. Swimming, surfing, sailing, boating and beach volleyball provide the ideal setting for a varied holiday. Excursions by boat to Lindau, Bregenz or to the Swiss shore of Lake Constance are also popular.

Autumn and winter in Wasserburg

In early autumn you can experience the colourful hustle and bustle of the fruit harvest and grape harvest up close. Juicy apples are waiting to be harvested and in the wine cellars, the ripe grapes are processed into delicious lake wines. For fruit and wine growers, the distillation of fine fruit brandies, aromatic liqueurs and the pressing of fine wines are both a philosophy of life and a passion. In October, the towns on Lake Constance are all about culinary experiences. As a prelude, the Wasserburg restaurateurs and tour guides invite you to a culinary voyage of discovery with fantastic views as part of the Wasserburg pleasure hike.

Also, a visit in winter is worthwhile in Wasserburg, when the Antonius Chapel is covered with tender, glittering snow and the clear air offers a magical view of the snow-covered mountain peaks. Or you can let yourself be carried away into the pre-Christmas magic at the Wasserburg Advent Market, just in time for Advent. The homely atmosphere, the lovingly decorated stalls and the varied offer make a visit to the Advent market a great experience for the whole family.
