Überlinger See & Linzgau
A place full of history(s)

Überlinger See & Linzgau

In the south of Baden-Württemberg is the Linzgau region, bordering on Überlinger See, part of Lake Constance. Here tourists will find paradisiacal landscapes, a mild climate and a variety of leisure activities.

Linzgau and Überlinger See

The Linzgau landscape is partly characterised by its proximity to Lake Constance, which ensures a mild climate. Fruit and wine cultivation characterise the landscape here. In the higher regions further away from Lake Constance, the climate is low mountain range. Larger towns in Linzgau are Überlingen, Pfullendorf and Markdorf.

The Überlinger See is also known as the finger of Lake Constance. It is located completely in Germany. On one side of the Überlinger See is the famous flower island of Mainau. Another place worth seeing at Überlinger See is Bodman-Ludwigshafen. Among the largest and best-known communities near Überlinger See are Meersburg, Constance and Überlingen.

When it comes to leisure activities in the holiday region Überlinger See and Linzgau, the focus is naturally on those Lake Constance has to offer. Here holidaymakers can practise water sports, go on extensive cycling tours by the lake and hike through idyllic nature. On all tours, there is more than enough food and drink available, as there are numerous excursion restaurants on Lake Constance that invite you to stop and rest. Many of the restaurants offer a direct view of the lake. Some are known for their regional specialities, which are particularly delicious.
