Radolfzell leaves nothing to be desired
The flair of a historically grown old town, combined with the diversity of the centre of the Untersee holiday region: Radolfzell at Lake Constance leaves nothing to be desired. The charming old town centre is a highlight for every visitor. The city offers a multitude of attractions. Numerous events such as the "Day of the Bicycle", "Music uff de Gass", the International Day, the Old Town Festival and much more increase the attractiveness throughout the year. Highlights are the evening market, which takes place in Radolfzell in summer, and the delicious chocolate market, which is unique on the lake and attracts many visitors to the city in November.
The cultivation of tradition is a top priority in Radolfzell. Since 1725, the city has celebrated the Hausherrenfest in honour of its patron saint every year in July. The three saints Theopont, Senesius and Zeno are honoured in a festive setting, with processions and church celebrations, but also with a colourful secular festival programme. The Moos Water Procession, first held in 1797, is one of the highlights of this multi-day festival.
Sport and Leisure
Almost every wish remains unfulfilled for visitors with sporting ambitions. The region is known for its cycle routes, which meet all requirements from family-friendly to high-performance sports. Water sports enthusiasts love the varied Untersee, mountain and climbing enthusiasts love the nearby Alps and the indoor climbing centre "Kletterwerk" of the Alpine Club. These are just a few examples of a wide range of sporting activities.
Particularly popular are sports events such as lake swimming, long-distance swimming from shore to shore, the Lake Constance company run or the megathlon with the disciplines racing cycling, running, swimming, mountain biking and inline skating.
Behind the Radolfzeller rounds there are three circular hiking trails and a family-friendly short round, which were inaugurated in autumn 2018. Another one will be added in spring 2019. At various altitudes, they open up the natural landscape of the Bodanrück region around Radolfzell. The length of the route ranges from just under nine kilometres to a family-friendly three kilometres. Further information can be found here.

Radolfzeller Old Town Festival
On the first weekend of September the whole of Radolfzell is once again in a state of emergency and celebrates the traditional Old Town Festival. Numerous participants from Radolfzell and the surrounding area make the Radolfzell city centre a colourful and friendly meeting place. Street artists, artisans, retailers, restaurateurs, clubs and music groups form the unique mixture that attracts several thousand visitors to the old town every year.
In addition to fashion shows and taster yoga, visitors to the Old Town Festival can also look forward to numerous handicrafts and gastronomy stands where they can browse and feast their fancy. The traditional children's flea market is also a big visitor magnet every year. A special children's area on Gerberplatz, where the popular Sparkassen puppet stage and children's make-up are offered in addition to a colourful participatory programme, makes the experience perfect for the family.
