Peace, relaxation and pure nature

Bodman-Ludwigshafen is the perfect place for those who want to spend their holidays far away from the stress of everyday life and the hustle and bustle of the city. The double community at the western end of Lake Constance is a jewel - among connoisseurs, this corner with its multitude of rare plants and birds is one of the most beautiful on Lake Constance. Embedded in a green hilly landscape, the two villages lie directly opposite each other. Only one nature reserve separates them.

Peace and recreation

Many a holidaymaker enthuses about the tranquillity and tranquillity that surrounds the small town of Bodman with its population of just 1,500, and enjoys coming back again. Whether hiking or just relaxing and unwinding: Bodman-Ludwigshafen offers something for everyone. The ruins of Alt-Bodman tower above the town, which stretches along the shore, and offer unique views of the Lake Constance landscape. The Frauenberg monastery and the castle of the Count of Bodman also make it possible to experience the past here. In the small village by the lake, which has undoubtedly received the box seat at this stage, there is no need to create a holiday atmosphere: It surrounds you.

Customs house Ludwigshafen

The landmark of Ludwigshafen can be seen from Bodman's waterfront promenade and the harbour. The customs house, former transshipment point for goods, is located directly on the lake. The Tourist Information and the Town Hall are also located here. On the outer façade you will find the metre-long relief "Ludwig's Erbe" by the local artist Peter Lenk, which fascinates numerous visitors and causes controversial discussions.

Hiking in Bodman-Ludwigshafen

Picturesque hiking trails extend around the western end of the lake. In spring, a walk along the flower path from Ludwigshafen to Sipplingen is particularly worthwhile. When the apple trees are in full splendour, the eyes cannot get enough of the beautiful sea of blossoms of the orchards. A panoramic view over a small community on the lake can be enjoyed on the Höhenweg above Bodman or on a hike to the Höhengasthaus Haldenhof. Unfortunately, the Marienschlucht gorge and the shore hiking trail from Bodman to Wallhausen are closed after the landslide in 2015.

A highlight for the little ones

Even the youngest ones get their money's worth in Bodman-Ludwigshafen, they can let off steam in the new highlights in the Uferparks, the large pile-dwelling playgrounds in Bodman and Ludwigshafen. These offer not only adventure and play opportunities, but also world heritage to touch. The playgrounds are circular like a pile-dwelling village and an oversized robe needle forms the Hangelwald forest. For small children there is a great slide, a swing, a climbing platform and a sandpit. Sporting skills can be tested on a climbing wall and sandal tables and a rope train invite you to play. You can really get going on the big slide, which is located at a height of 3m. For the older children there is the Hangelwald as well as a water basin with raft.
